About The Position

Description :
This position requires a registered nurse specializing in pediatric psychiatric care.
The nurse will work in a pediatric psychiatric unit with a diverse patient population.
Patients are ages 5 to 18.
Common diagnoses include eating disorders, depression, suicidal ideation, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and oppositional defiant disorder.
The nurse will provide traditional medical and psychiatric care.
Specialized therapies available include pet therapy, group sessions, and community gardens.
Patient ratios will be 1 RN to 13 patients at night with resource support.
Psych tech support will be available on the unit.
The nurse supervisor will be present during evenings and weekends.
The nursing manager will work day shifts.
Charge nurse responsibilities may be assigned but are not required.
The unit will have a psychiatrist performing daily rounds.
The charting system used is Cerner.
Floating between adult and pediatric units may be required.
Weekend rotation is expected every other weekend.
Holiday work is required on a rotational basis.
Approval for time off is limited to up to 7 days.
