Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems supporting new nuclear power plant designs or modifications to operating nuclear power plants.
• Work collaboratively with various design engineering execution teams across the US.
• Perform all aspects of mechanical system design engineering and analysis for assigned systems of responsibility.
• Function in a responsible engineer capacity which includes :
• Actively seek to understand client interests and drivers through normal client contact and through interaction and communication with project leadership.
• Provide technical direction and guidance to others.
• Assign tasks to and coordinate with other internal / external team members on complex projects.
• Perform complex research and develop recommendations for equipment and / or materials selection.
• Understand, manage, and adhere to project budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
• Initiate contact with other disciplines as needed to ensure proper workflow sequence.

Team and Background

The Mechanical Engineering Department is a global team that delivers high quality, on time design and services projects in the areas of Power, Gas, Fuels & Chemicals, Water and Waste Water, Data Centers, and Mining including everything Mechanically related to Process and Power projects (from Conventional, Combined Heat and Power, Hydro, Hydrogen, Nuclear, Solar / Renewable, LNG, Ammonia, Fertilizer) to specialized Air Quality Control, HVAC, Fire Protection, Piping, Thermal and Renewable performance estimating and testing. Black & Veatch's Power Providers focuses on holistic energy generation demands and sustainable energy solutions.

Holds an active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements for BV projects, and supports where necessary.
