Job Description & Requirements Specialty : PACU - Post Anesthesia Care Discipline : RN Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, days Employment Type : Travel Post-Anesthesia Care Unit Registered Nurse (PACU RN) Location : Washington, DC Start Date : November 3, 2025 We are seeking a highly skilled PACU RN to join our surgical recovery team in Washington, DC. This is a full-time travel contract requiring advanced post-operative care experience across a diverse surgical population. Candidates must hold an active DC RN license at the time of submission. Key Responsibilities : Deliver post-anesthesia care for patients recovering from pediatric, GYN, neuro / spine, ortho / total joints, ophthalmology, urology, and bariatric procedures Monitor patient vitals and manage pain and sedation protocols Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure safe recovery Participate in call rotations and weekend / holiday coverage Maintain compliance with infection control and isolation precautions Schedule Details : Day shift : 3x12-hour (07 : 00–20 : 00) Every other weekend and holiday coverage required Call requirement : 2 weekend (12-hour) and 4 weeknight (8-hour) shifts per 4-week period; self-scheduled Qualifications : Active DC RN license (required at time of submission) Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 Minimum 2 years of PACU experience (1.5 years considered with strong clinical background and prior travel experience) Proficient in post-op care for high-acuity surgical patients Certifications Required : BLS ACLS PALS Facility Highlights : Short-term acute care hospital Teaching facility with diverse surgical specialties Scrubs provided Cerner charting system This position offers an auto-offer option with the possibility of a manager interview if needed.
