Job Description
The Pipe Stress Engineer will be responsible for performing pipe stress analysis in accordance with ASME B31.3 and B31.1 Codes.
The role involves verifying system flexibility and stability, ensuring compliance with design requirements, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver cost-effective and high-quality piping system designs.
Major Responsibilities
- Perform pipe stress analysis of systems in accordance with ASME B31.3 Code.
- Model piping systems to verify flexibility, stability, and qualification of equipment nozzle loads.
- Work closely with layout personnel and pipe support engineers to deliver high-quality, cost-effective designs.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and vendors as required.
- Apply standard plant design and piping engineering methods, techniques, and procedures using independent judgment for adaptations and modifications.
- Participate in design reviews and recommend approval of drawings and data for compliance with requirements.
- Analyze problems involving conflicting design requirements and propose effective solutions.
- Evaluate the suitability of unconventional materials, techniques, and complex coordination requirements.
- Coordinate plant design engineering efforts with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, clients, vendors, contractors, and other functional teams.
Education and Experience Requirements
Level I : Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5–8 years of relevant experience, or 9–12 years of relevant work experience.Level II : Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8–10 years of relevant experience, or 12–14 years of relevant work experience.Required Knowledge and Skills
EIT certification or PE registration preferred.Prior experience using pipe stress analysis software such as Bentley AutoPipe.Working knowledge of dynamic analysis and ASME B31.3 or B31.1 Codes.Previous experience in client and / or DOD / DOE projects preferred.Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check, including verification of employment, education, and travel history.J-18808-Ljbffr
