The Operations Manager for Engineering & Sciences (E&S) Navigation, Targeting & Survivability (NT&S) Division will be based in the greater Chicago area at our Rolling Meadows, IL site. The position will report directly to the vice president and is responsible for ensuring that the vice president's vision is translated into an operational reality. The selected candidate will work with leaders of all levels across the matrix organization to facilitate the dissemination of information and expedite the implementation of initiatives across the sector. The successful candidate will also manage the administrative and operational affairs of the vice president and is a member of the E&S NT&S leadership team.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate strong leadership and relationship building skills, a track record as an effective verbal and written communicator, and problem solver with the ability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business. The selected candidate will :

• Coordinate with engineering site leads (multiple sites), and engineering OU business partners to ensure effective planning, staffing, and efficient functional engineering operations.
• Collaborate with the engineering, division, BU and OU operations managers to ensure a strong partnership between engineering and programs.
• Collaborate with multiple functional organizations (human resources, talent acquisition, business management, mission assurance, enterprise services, program management, facilities and security) to define strategies that enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency.
• Identify engineering focus areas for improvement / streamlining, development and execution of engineering initiatives, and elimination of non-value-added activities in all levels of the engineering organization.

The candidate will support division-level operations and requires a broad base of engineering knowledge in Systems Engineering, Integration & Test (SEIT), Software Engineering / Digital Technology (SWDT), and Hardware Engineering (HWE). The ideal candidate will also have a strong background in business management & finance, program management, proven strategic planning and business execution capabilities, as well as the ability to work collaboratively across the business units and other divisions.

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
