Qualifications and Requirements
- An appropriate New Jersey Department of Education Standard Certificate, Certificate of Eligibility (CE), or Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS), as deemed necessary by NJDOE
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (preferred), unless otherwise specified by the NJDOE.
Basic Functions and Responsibilities
Develop and implement a program of study tailored to students' individual needs, interests, and abilities.Assess student progress regularly and prepare reports.Instruct students in citizenship, communication skills, and other core areas as per state law and district regulations.Provide instruction in various group settings to meet diverse learning needs.Maintain standards of student behavior to ensure a safe and productive environment.Select and requisition instructional materials and maintain inventory records.Design instructional plans and organize class time effectively.Engage in ongoing professional development and self-improvement activities.Supervise student activities and coordinate with aides and paraprofessionals.Collaborate with staff and communicate with parents regarding student progress.Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.Reporting and Compensation
Reports to : PrincipalSalary Range : $67,000 - $111,625 (for SY 25-26)Employment Period : 10 monthsUnion Affiliation : Newark Teacher's Union (NTU)Application Process
