Non-Certified Nursing Assistant Positions

Saint Luke's Health System Nursing Assistant Training Program is now accepting applications from Guadalupe students for its Non-Certified Nursing Assistant positions. This is a great opportunity for students to enter into the healthcare field and provide care to patients in the hospital setting.

As part of your orientation you will go through a six-week program which offers paid training, as well as an hourly wage. This provides a chance at a new career for individuals seeking an entry-level position in health care as a nursing assistant, and an opportunity to make a difference. The six-week program is part of a blended approach to learning, which contains didactic training, eLearnings, simulation and clinical experience.

Weeks one through three will be in-person classroom-based training. Weeks four through six will consist of clinical time and department orientation spent inside a Saint Luke's hospital on designated units with a clinical instructor and a success coach.

After training, nursing assistants will work either Day Shift Hours 6 : 45 AM - 7 : 45 PM or Night Shift Hours 6 : 45 PM - 7 : 15 AM.

Responsibilities :

• Providing patient care under the direction and supervision of an RN or LPN.
• Performing direct and indirect patient care tasks.
• Providing assistance with activities of daily living and care such as bathing, hygiene, elimination and toileting, nutrition, feeding, hydration, ambulation and positioning.
• Anticipating the patient's family needs in a proactive fashion.
• Individualizing and modifying care according to the patient's needs.
• Collaborating with other health care team members to enhance the provision of patient care.
• Supporting patient safety and satisfaction by performing regular patient rounds on the nursing unit and effectively communicating with all team members while providing excellent customer service.
