Overview
You will be the Hardware Engineering Lead - ATWS Program for the Advanced Tactical Weapon Systems (ATWS) team. Our team drives the development, integration, and sustainment of cutting edge Electro Optical / Infrared (EO IR) systems, delivering high performance hardware that powers next generation platforms.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for EO IR hardware, from initial requirements through design, test, and long-term sustainment.
- Direct a multidisciplinary group of engineers, balancing technical excellence with budget and schedule constraints across multiple concurrent programs.
- Lead the hardware design and analysis team, setting technical direction and performance targets.
- Define and refine system requirements, translating them into detailed hardware specifications.
- Conduct design reviews, trade studies, and technical analyses to validate concepts and mitigate risk.
- Oversee prototype and production testing at the system and sub-assembly level, capturing data for continuous improvement.
- Manage non-conformance MRB disposition, driving corrective actions and root cause resolution.
- Coordinate with external suppliers and internal stakeholders to align schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
- Prepare and present internal and external design / programmatic review materials to senior leadership and customers.
- Monitor program budgets and schedules, report status, and forecast resource needs.
- Mentor engineers and foster a collaborative culture that encourages innovation and knowledge sharing.
- Support multiple fast-paced programs to achieve strategic ATWS objectives.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering (required).Project Lead experience required.Proficiency with CREO (Pro / Engineer) required.Experience developing and interpreting GD&T per ASME Y14.5 required.Experience with PTC Windchill required.Basic Microsoft Office skills required.Secret Clearance required.Desired Skills
Extensive mechanical design experience for development and production in aerospace or similar industries.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple programs with conflicting priorities.CAM experience / training desirable.Experience with lab and flight integration and test support desirable.Occasional overtime and travel may be required.Experience on SAR programs / contracts desirable.Additional Information
