Barkers Hotel & Purrington Inn, a premier pet boarding facility for dogs and cats, is looking for a compassionate, organized, and friendly Front Desk Receptionist to welcome our furry guests (and their humans!) and keep our front desk operations running smoothly.
This is more than just a receptionist roleyou'll be the heartbeat of our customer experience, helping pets and pet parents feel at ease from the moment they walk through the door.
What You'll Do : Client Interaction
- Greet clients and pets with warmth, professionalism, and a smilein person and on the phone
- Answer questions about our services (boarding, daycare, groomingyou name it!)
- Schedule reservations and appointments using our management software
- Guide pet parents through smooth check-in / check-out procedures
- Update and maintain pet medical and vaccination records
Administrative Duties
Keep client and pet records organized and accurateProcess payments (cash, card, and digital) and issue receiptsPrepare and file intake forms and boarding agreementsRespond to emails and inquiries promptlyor forward to the right team memberFacility Support
Communicate pet care details to our amazing kennel and grooming staffMake sure each pet's unique needs (medications, food, temperament) are clearly noted and sharedKeep the lobby tidy, welcoming, and safe for both pets and peopleHelp manage front-desk supplies and retail pet product inventoryWhat Makes You a Great Fit :

Comfortable being on your feetstanding, walking, sittingfor extended periodsAble to lift up to 40 lbs occasionally (kibble bags and squirmy pups!)Ok with barking, meowing, and the occasional furball or flying fluffSchedule & Availability :
Must be flexible to work weekends, holidays, and during peak seasonsShifts may vary depending on business needsYour Background :
High school diploma or equivalent (required)1+ year of receptionist or customer service experience (preferred)Previous experience in a veterinary clinic, animal shelter, or pet care environment is a big plus!Comfortable handling cats and dogs of all shapes, sizes, and sass levelsTech-savvy with scheduling software; Microsoft Word & Excel skills are a bonusPerks & Benefits :
