Golden Buckeye Coordinator
Acts for the Constituent Services Manager, independently handling complex / confidential correspondence, transmitting decisions and directives, representing the administrator at meetings, formulating and implementing Golden Buckeye program policy, and assuming authority in the administrator's absence.
Key duties of this role are :
This position is part-time, approximately 35 hours per week, and requires availability Monday through Friday between 8 : 00 AM and 5 : 00 PM.
The Legislative and Public Affairs Division (LPAD) coordinates government and external relations, including media outreach. The division is responsible for developing relationships with the legislature and stakeholders as well as promoting policy to ensure that the interests of the department and aging Ohioans are represented across the state and at the federal level. The division plans special events and recognitions and creates and distributes educational and informative publications across media. Staff handles constituent inquiries, maintains the department's website and social media presences, and operates the Golden Buckeye program and ODA's main phone line.

Qualifications : 36 mos. trg. or 36 mos. exp. in business administration, management science or public administration. If assigned to operate vehicles regulated by Section 4506.01 of Revised Code, applicants must also have valid commercial driver's license. Or completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, management science or public administration; 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in supervisory, administrative & / or managerial position which involved limited research & public contact. If assigned to operate vehicles regulated by Section 4506.01 of Revised Code, applicants must also have valid commercial driver's license. Or completion of undergraduate core program in academic field commensurate with program area to be assigned per approved Position Description on file; 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in supervisory, administrative, managerial & / or staff position which involved limited research & public contact. If assigned to operate vehicles regulated by Section 4506.01 of Revised Code, applicants must also have valid commercial driver's license. Salary Information : Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be set at the lowest rate of the salary range. In most cases successful employees will move up a step in the salary range within six months, with subsequent step increases occurring every year as supported by successful performance evaluation results. We also offer cost of living adjustments, longevity supplements after five years of eligible public service, and wellness incentives.
