LHH Recruitment is seeking a Staff Accountant to work for a Not for Profit organization in Queens, NY.

This is a Full Time, Immediate Opportunity!

IN Office.

Position Overview :

Under general direction, the Financial Analyst / Accountant is responsible for providing strategic financial analysis and forecasting to support agency operations and budgeting. This role involves preparing financial presentations, conducting capital expenditure and cost-benefit analyses, modeling revenue projections, and performing ad hoc reporting. The ideal candidate will deliver actionable insights to agency leadership through detailed general ledger reviews, industry comparisons, and scenario-based forecasting.

Key Responsibilities :

The Financial Analyst / Accountant will

Maintain monthly fixed asset schedules and post adjusting journal entries as needed.

Prepare and manage balance sheet schedules for the organization and create accounts payable trend analyses to identify outstanding invoices.

Analyzing current and historical trends in key performance indicators across revenue, expenses, capital expenditures, and loan documents.

Monitor budgets, investigate variances, and provide timely recommendations to improve financial performance.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Financial Analyst / Staff Accountant

Skills and Competencies :

Strong understanding of general ledger systems and statistical analysis tools

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical capabilities

Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently

Experience with database applications and financial modeling

Initiative-driven with a problem-solving mindset

Pay Details : $34.00 to $38.00 per hour
