Overview
Senior SCADA Controls Engineer at Flex. This role involves design, implementation, optimization and maintenance of SCADA systems used in monitoring automated assembly and manufacturing lines.
Base pay range : $96,400.00 / yr - $132,500.00 / yr
Responsibilities
- SCADA System Design : Collaborate with Cross Functional Teams (CFTs) or project teams to establish requirements, design and develop SCADA systems tailored to specific factory / production lines to effectively present information needed by the CFTs to optimize OEE and yield.
- Collaborate with IT in designing database schemas to integrate SCADA systems with other system databases.
- System Implementation : Configure, program, and deploy SCADA hardware and software components, including HMIs, PLCs, and communication protocols.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including automation engineers, process engineers, and IT professionals, to ensure seamless integration of SCADA systems with other infrastructure components.
- Develop and modify HMI / SCADA systems, including 2D and 3D graphics creation, Tag Database generation, dashboards / reports, computer setup / configuration, startup services including field setup and checkout, troubleshooting and operator training.
- Troubleshooting and Maintenance : Diagnose and resolve SCADA system malfunctions and software bugs; perform routine maintenance, software updates, and system backups.
- Work with controls technicians, IT network technicians and other staff to troubleshoot communication / integration issues between PLCs and SCADA.
- Cybersecurity : Work with IT to implement and maintain cybersecurity measures to protect SCADA systems from unauthorized access, cyber threats, and vulnerabilities; establish operational controls for data security and integrity including privacy, validation, and recovery procedures.
- Data Analysis : Analyze real-time and historical data to identify trends, anomalies, and potential issues; develop strategies for process optimization based on data insights.
- Documentation : Maintain comprehensive documentation of SCADA configurations, network diagrams, and operating procedures.
- Training : Provide training and support to operators and maintenance teams to enhance understanding of SCADA systems and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Advising : Assist and advise users on major aspects of SCADA design, operating mode, system software and equipment.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.Minimum of 8 years of experience in SCADA / Automation roles, with at least 5 years in design, implementation and optimization of SCADA systems.Proficiency in SCADA platforms; experience with Ignition preferred.Extensive PC hardware knowledge and general computer maintenance capabilities.Understanding of network design and cybersecurity principles for SCADA systems.Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Windows Server.Experience installing, programming, and troubleshooting Allen / Bradley PLCs.Experience in Visual Basic / VBA, Python and / or scripting languages.Strong knowledge of industrial automation protocols (OPC, Ethernet / IP, EtherCAT, Modbus).Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication and teamwork skills.Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining system reliability.SCADA or industrial automation certification is advantageous.Experience in the medical device industry or other regulated industries is preferable.Equal Opportunity
