Dining Room Helper

St. Norbert College (SNC), a nationally-ranked, private, Catholic, liberal arts college, is seeking a part-time Dining Room Helper. This position is responsible for assisting with the set-up, service, and cleanliness of Ruth’s Marketplace during meal times.

This position generally works Monday - Friday from 11 : 00 am to 4 : 00 pm during academic service times with one 8 hour day weekly during the academic year. This position does not work during the academic year when classes are not in session over scheduled breaks. This position begins work on August 20th and ends on May 20th each year.

Specific responsibilities :

Assist with the set-up, service, and clean-up in Ruth’s Marketplace, including meal plan service, dish room, and floor cleaning.

Communicate effectively with the Production team to ensure the continuous flow of food by providing information relevant to batch cooking.

Assist with rotating, stocking, and inventory. Maintain orderly coolers, freezers, and storerooms assigned to the front of the house team.

Follow all Dining Services Policies and Procedures and assist supervisors in ensuring all staff follow safety, sanitations, HACCP, and Wisconsin Food Code guidelines.

Required Minimum Qualifications :

High School Diploma or equivalent

Less than 1 year of food service experience.

Dedicated to working in a mission-driven environment, with a profound respect for and commitment to preserving the rich traditions of Catholicism, Norbertine values, and the liberal arts.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to interact professionally with coworkers and customers, particularly in conflict situations.

Skilled in basic math computations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Skilled at setting a good example for others.

Ability to concentrate and focus in a noisy environment.
