Legal Billing Assistant
Our client is a sophisticated regional law firm conveniently located in White Plains, NY. The office is within walking distance to Metro North and has a parking garage on site.
They are currently seeking a Legal Billing Assistant to join their team of dedicated professionals.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Issue draft invoices to attorneys for initial review on a monthly / bi-monthly basis
- Amend invoices with guidance from Billing Manager and attorneys and finalize for distribution
- Work with the client’s accounting department and claims handlers to resolve any billing inquiries
- Run accounts receivable reports to keep track of past due accounts and follow up on payment
- Apply incoming payments to the correct accounts and keep accurate financial records
- Preparation / tracking of payments for the Firm’s disbursed expenses
- Assist in tracking / recording timekeeper hours and evaluation efficiencies
- Assist in tracking / responding to carrier invoice revisions and reductions
Qualifications :
Associate’s Degree or comparable education / work experienceMinimum of one year of billing experience in a law firm environmentExperience in accounts receivable and close attention to detail are required aspects of this roleDiscreet and prepared to maintain professional confidentialityOutstanding MS Office skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel) and data entryWorking proficiency with Time Slips | Time Matters | QuickBooks | Microsoft Excel is preferredStrong work ethicAbility to handle multiple projects at the same time and meet deadlinesStrong written and verbal communication and organization skillsBenefits include :
