Step 2 : $93,768 / annually

Steps are given at anniversary dates. Step 1 is achieved when graduating the Field Training program.

Incentives Include :
City Sponsored Police Academy program. City will pay for all Accredited Police Academy Program related costs to obtain Colorado POST certification.
Duty Firearm will be provided. Additionally, interest-free loans are available for future weapons purchases.
All uniform, belts, holsters, and other equipment, including ballistic body armor and plates, with the exception of footwear, is provided. Ballistic armor is replaced every five years at no cost to the employee. Officers also receive a biannual equipment allowance of $200 ($400 yearly)
Take home car program is available for once you successfully complete Field Training. (25 miles from city corners)
Spanish / English bilingual skills are desirable. Supplemental pay of $50-$200 / month is available for bilingual skills demonstrated through testing.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES :
This is an entry-level class in the Police Officer series. This class is distinguished from Police Officer by participation in a formal training program to become certified as a Police Officer in the State of Colorado and / or to complete the Longmont Field Training Program.
Police personnel work with community members to analyze crime and other problems and attend / participate in community meetings to create an environment in which community members are motivated to assist in the implementation of problem solving strategies. New police officers will be assigned to the Patrol Services Division which provides around-the-clock patrols to deter and detect crime, enforce traffic laws, and conduct investigations of crime and traffic incidents.
Officers are assigned to a designated area on one of three overlapping 10-hour watches to ensure continuous
coverage of the City. Hours and days off will vary depending on shift assignment.
