Overview
A Director, Events, Marketing & Engagement role responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of all company events. This position requires strategic, detail-oriented leadership to manage budgeting, vendor management, logistics, and on-site coordination, while enhancing brand image and client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, implement and guide an event strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand event requirements and objectives.
- Conduct thorough research to identify suitable event concepts, themes, and venues.
- Create detailed event plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.
- Develop event budgets and monitor expenses to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
- Track and manage event finances, including invoicing, payments, and reconciliations.
- Coordinate all logistical aspects of events, including venue selection, audiovisual requirements, catering, transportation, and accommodations.
- Manage event registration, attendee communication, and RSVP tracking.
- Oversee event set-up, including stage design, signage, and branding.
- Ensure seamless on-site event management, including troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Identify and select vendors, contractors, and service providers for various event needs.
- Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with vendors to ensure high-quality services.
- Collaborate with internal teams, such as marketing and communications, to align event messaging and branding.
- Liaise with clients, sponsors, and other stakeholders to understand their expectations and deliver exceptional experiences.
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities, ensuring the effective execution of event plans.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork and creativity.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field7-10 years of B2B event planning and / or marketing experience7-10 years of internal event planning5-7 years of marketing / communications agency experience and / or (5-7) years of corporate experienceProven experience in planning and executing events, preferably in a leadership roleStrong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneouslyExcellent organizational and time management skills, with meticulous attention to detailExceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse stakeholdersProficiency in event management software and toolsBudgeting and financial management skillsAbility to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situationsFlexibility to work irregular hours and travel as requiredOrganization Details
