Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of mechanical engineers by providing oversight, technical mentoring, and guidance
- Design and analyze mechanical, structural, and thermal components and subsystems to meet customer requirements and align with LM Space standard methodologies
- Develop, review, release, and maintain engineering documentation, specifications, and technical analyses to support product development, build, and testing activities
- Use CAD software to create 3D models and engineering drawings with GD&T, integrating components and subsystems into a comprehensive, master CAD model
- Present design and analysis data to the spacecraft design / engineering team, customer technical representatives, and Program Office personnel at technical interchange meetings and formal design reviews
Basic Qualifications
BachelorB s Degree in Engineering (or related technical field) or equivalent experience / combined educationExtensive experience with flight hardware design, analysis, integration, and testProficient in mechanical drafting standards and techniques, as well as CAD modeling and drafting tools (Creo or equivalent)Proficient with finite element numerical solution tools (e.g., NX & NX Nastran)Active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance; desire and ability to obtain / maintain a Top Secret / SCI Security ClearanceDesired Skills
Experience leading design and analysis efforts in support of conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design activitiesExperience with responsible engineer responsibilities (CPE, CPE delegate, or equivalent)Experience in conducting Engineering Review Boards (ERBs), Material Review Boards (MRBs), and Failure Review Boards (FRBs)Ability and desire to assume ownership of tasks and quickly and efficiently drive to closureWillingness to mentor and develop junior engineersExcellent written and verbal technical communication skillsSecurity Clearance

For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidateFs final work location.
