The Role

As a Mechanical Piping Design Engineer, you will be an integral part of our Mechanical Engineering team, working within a multidisciplinary environment alongside our wider EPCM team, including EC&I, Civil & Structural, Process, and Construction Management. You'll be involved in a variety of UK-based projects across the onshore process industries, including chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, oil & gas, and food & beverage.

This role is primarily office-based, with occasional site visits as required. You'll collaborate closely with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of engineering solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Developing and reviewing mechanical and piping drawings in line with relevant standards.
• Providing design support during construction phases when needed.
• Collaborating with engineers and project teams to implement procedures and share technical insights.
• Evaluating client design proposals, specifications, and documentation for feasibility and compliance.
• Specifying system components and recommending modifications to meet performance criteria.
• Leading client design reviews and incorporating feedback into design development.
• Acting as a technical point of contact for clients, fostering strong working relationships.
• Coordinating with other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless project integration.
• Preparing scopes of work and technical documentation for procurement and installation.
• Assisting with mechanical piping resource planning alongside the Mechanical Section Head.
• Supporting business development by contributing to cost estimates and project proposals.
