IT Program Manager
Under the direction of the Manager, IT Business Services the IT Program Manager is responsible for the continuous management of a portfolio of closely related projects that target specific enterprise objectives. Works closely with IT and enterprise leadership in the development, approval, prioritization and execution of the Program roadmap. Establishes and leads project management teams and cross-functional stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of approved projects executed under the program to ensure timely and accurate execution per stakeholder expectations
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
1. Contributes to the development, approval, prioritization, and execution of the program roadmap. Establishes parent / child program hierarchy and manage dependencies that are either internal or external to the program.
2. Works directly with project sponsors and stakeholders on the development, documentation and approval of formal business requirements to drive discovery and project execution requirements. Defines project scope, objectives, deliverables, required resources and budget and obtaining approval from project sponsors prior to project launch.
3. Establishes and maintains stakeholder relationships across the enterprise and facilitate effective communication and collaboration. Develops effective and accurate program dashboards for communication to project teams and senior leadership.
4. Plans and schedules project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools measuring program initiatives are executed per approved prioritization and that program dependencies and constraints are understood, documented and managed.
5. Establishes and manages multiple cross-functional project teams throughout the lifecycle of each project within the program (Discovery, Initiation, Planning, Execution, Closeout).
6. Provides direction, training, and mentorship to junior project managers and others as it relates to program initiatives.
7. Establishes budgets and track / manage status of project expenses through funding approval, PO commitment, invoice receipt and payment. Communicates project expense forecast and any variances.
8. Executes repeatable PMO project methodology ensuring consistency across all projects executed within the program. Performs risk assessments, develop mitigation plans, and manage risks throughout project lifecycle.
9. Ensures variances to project schedule, scope and budget baselines are managed and approved through formal change control processes. Ensures that impacts of changes are well understood, documented, communicated and managed.
10. Works closely with the business, Procurement team, and vendors in communicating project requirements to drive solution and vendor selection, statement of work generation and review and contract finalization.
11. Defines project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle. Conducts project postmortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
12. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
