Work Schedule and Hours : Part-time, approximately 20 hours per week. Primary schedule is
Tuesday through Thursday, 7 : 00 AM to 2 : 00 PM , with some flexibility to adjust or add hours
as needed to support building operations and events. This role is part of a team that covers front
desk responsibilities, so occasional variation in schedule may be required based on building
activity.
Salary range : $21 / hr - $23.50 / hr.
Position Summary :
Redeemer East Side is seeking a capable and friendly Front Desk Associate to be the first point of contact for staff, visitors, and event clients at our E91st Street building.
The Front Desk Associate will provide strong administrative support, work closely with Redeemer East Side and Redeemer City to City staff, and also oversee security-related responsibilities, ensuring that all visitors are properly checked in and directed appropriately.
Key Responsibilities :
Reception and Guest Services
- Greet all guests and visitors in a friendly, respectful, and professional manner, creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
- Provide dependable and reliable coverage with scheduled shifts and front desk coverage.
- Direct guests to their destinations and answer questions.
- Answer and manage telephone calls, including screening and forwarding calls as necessary.
- Set up digital signage and flight boards for events and classes.
- Respond to questions and manage communications via walkie-talkies with on-site staff.
- Assist with check-in for large gatherings, ensuring efficient and organized processing of guests.
- Monitor and assist with vendor load-ins and guest traffic flow in the lobby during events.
Security and Access Management
Oversee the check-in process for all individuals entering the building, ensuring they are properly identified and cleared for access.Demonstrate sound judgment and professionalism when addressing conflicts or disturbances, with the ability to de-escalate situations calmly and appropriately.Collaborate with the building operations team to maintain a secure environment by monitoring entry points, managing security camera surveillance, and upholding safety measures.Report any security incidents or guest feedback to the appropriate management staff.Maintain a detailed understanding of the facility, ministry information, and general operations to assist visitors and enhance security protocols.Issue and manage keycards for staff and guest badge access.Administrative Support
Receive, sort, and distribute deliveries and mail.Respond to emails and assist with initial vetting of event space rental inquiries.Maintain and update important front desk documents, including instruction manuals, contact lists, policy documents, and neighborhood resources.Ensure all events are accurately recorded, updated, and secured within the organization's online event management system.Replenish brochures, information cards, and other materials in the lobby.Provide assistance during events, as needed.Competencies Required :

High school diploma or GED required.At least two years of experience in customer service, hospitality, office assistance, or a related field.Fire and life safety certification is a plus. Ex. S95 Fitness Certificate.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to hospitality and professionalism.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with MacOS, Google Workspace, Slack, and Asana.CPR, First Aid, and Mental Health First Aid certifications are a plus.Familiarity with the Upper East Side of Manhattan is a plus.Spanish proficiency, and knowledge of other languages, is a plus.Ability to lift, pull, and push a moderate weight (about 50 pounds).Strong initiative and agility, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and system-building.Working Conditions :
