Location : Gilman Street, Portland, ME

Schedule : Full-Time | Monday - Friday | 8 : 00 AM - 4 : 30 PM

Department : MaineHealth Adult Specialty Care

Work Setting : On-site only (not remote)

About the Role :

MaineHealth is seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Patient Service Specialist (PSS) to join our Adult Specialty Care team in Portland. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and play a key role in delivering a positive and seamless healthcare experience.

This position offers a consistent weekday schedule with no nights, weekends, or major holidays required - ideal for those seeking work-life balance in a professional healthcare setting.

What You'll Do :

Greet patients and visitors with professionalism and compassion

Schedule patient appointments and coordinate referrals

Manage front desk administrative duties including check-in / check-out, verifying insurance, and processing co-pays

Support general office operations and ensure patient flow runs smoothly

Collaborate closely with clinical and administrative staff to support patient care

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

• Education : High school diploma or GED preferred.
• License / Certifications : N / A
• Experience : Six months of medical office experience required.
• Additional Skills / Requirements Required : N / A
• Additional Skills / Requirements Preferred : Proficient computer skills.
