Job Summary

Paraprofessionals are hired to the School to Work Transition Programs (STWTP), rather than a specific school or community site. Consideration for staffing needs and strengths may result in site adjustments. Para responsibilities include the following (with some variation depending on particular assignment) :

• Supporting the vocational education plans established by the work site teacher and / or the Employment Training Specialist
• Responsible for recording observation notes for teachers incorporation into progress reports, report cards and performance profiles
• Provide support to events hosted by the overall program
• Duties are highly dependent upon the worksite and therefore, flexibility is a must. Para professionals will model universal work skills as well as job-specific duties.
• Timeliness, patience, dependability, strong ethics and commitment are among the primary universal work skills needed
• Extensive walking and some lifting may be necessary.
• Proficiency in Milwaukee Public Schools technology systems is required (email, phone, Outlook Calendar, One Drive, etc.).
