Description Vice President Ambulatory Operations, University of Colorado Hospital The Opportunity The Vice President of Ambulatory Services at the University of Colorado Hospital is a critical leadership role within one of the nation's premier academic medical centers. Reporting Relationships Reports to : Chief Operating Officer, University of Colorado Hospital Responsibilities Creates a high-performance culture focused on access, execution, and service, partnering with hospital executives, medical staff, and community stakeholders to advance integrated care models and expand access to services. Collaborates with key leadership to manage the successful onboarding and integration of new practices and providers. Collaborates with both corporate and local development teams to identify, manage, and implement growth opportunities. Assist with the acquisition of required talent and recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing leadership team to drive the successful implementation and long-term sustainability of various clinic models, while promoting professional development, engagement, and retention among staff. Develop and implement long-term strategies to enhance the growth, integration, and performance of ambulatory care programs in alignment with hospital objectives. Lead initiatives to improve clinical quality, patient safety, and satisfaction, utilizing data-driven methodologies and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Develop, manage, and monitor budgets, financial performance, and business plans for ambulatory services, identifying opportunities for growth and cost containment. Ensure all ambulatory operations adhere to federal, state, and local regulations, as well as organizational policies and accreditation standards. Drive the adoption of new technologies, care models, and best practices to enhance patient outcomes and operational effectiveness. Education / Experience Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, or a related field required. Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in ambulatory or outpatient services, preferably within a large academic medical center or health system. Demonstrated experience in matrixed reporting structures, along with exceptional collaboration abilities to build and maintain effective relationships throughout UCHealth and the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, operations management, and financial oversight. Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in ambulatory healthcare. Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills. Proven track record of leading quality improvement initiatives and achieving measurable outcomes.
