The 1st Shift Tool Room Machinist will work with stainless steel and other materials to create custom products used in pharmaceutical manufacturing . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining and be proficient in operating manual lathes and machining centers. This role involves producing low-volume, precision components.

Tool Room Machinist Key Responsibilities :

  • Machining & Manufacturing : Operate manual lathes, milling machines, and CNC machining centers
  • Precision & Quality Control : Perform precise measurements and inspections on all finished parts.
  • Blueprint Interpretation : Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to understand part dimensions, tolerances, and materials.
  • Tool Setup & Maintenance : Set up tooling, fixtures, and machine programs. Regularly maintain tools, equipment, and machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaboration & Communication : Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and other team members to ensure the timely completion of projects and address any challenges that arise during production.

Tool Room Machinist Qualifications :

  • Experience : Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a machinist in a tool room or manufacturing environment, particularly with stainless steel or other metals.
  • Technical Skills : Strong knowledge of manual machining techniques, including operating lathes, milling machines, and CNC machining centers.
  • Blueprint Reading : Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD designs.
  • Regulatory Knowledge : Familiarity with industry standards and quality control measures, especially in the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector.
  • Physical Stamina : Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), when necessary.
  • Communication Skills : Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members and report issues or updates.
  • Certification : Certification from a recognized trade school or apprenticeship program is a plus.
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing PREFERRED : Prior experience working in a regulated environment or producing components for the pharmaceutical or medical device industries.
  • Additional Skills : Familiarity with CAD / CAM software or advanced CNC operations
