Patient Material Transport Coordinator
Position Summary
The Patient / Materials Transport Coordinator will receive calls and assign errands, transports & rounds to the Patient Materials Transporters and Volunteers. The Coordinator participates in the interview process and provides feedback on candidates and recommendations for hiring. Participates in the monitoring of staff competencies. During times of high activity will assist with Transporter duties. The Coordinator is responsible to complete the monthly schedule to assure appropriate coverage in the department and is responsible for accurate payroll submission. The Coordinator monitors activities of Hospital and Volunteer Transporters to minimize downtime and availability to all departments for transportation tasks as well as reviewing department productivity metrics.

Education & Experience Requirements
High School diploma / Equivalency required. Previous hospital experience preferred. Successful completion of departmental orientation

Team work : Must have the ability to act in a professional capacity and serve as a role model for transport team. Works closely with department managers to ensure availability and timeliness of all transport needs.
Communication Skills : Communicates effectively (written and verbal) in English.
Problem-Solving : Trouble shoots transport flow challenges and makes adjustment to work assignments as needed utilizing productivity reports for department and individuals.
Planning and Organizing : Facilitates work schedules and assignments to meet demands of the organization including scheduling and payroll.
Stress Tolerance : Needs to maintain composure 100% of the time during conflicting priorities.
