Job Summary : Ability to handle customer service responsibilities in providing support and assistance to individuals and families applying for services, to include organizing, paperwork flow, and all necessary communications for administrative purposes. Strong interpersonal problem solving and decision-making skills in interactions with the public and willingness to continue learning and adapting to new positional challenges.

Administrative Support / Clerical : (70%)
- Ensure the confidentiality of clients and files.
- Answer telephone, make appointments, and assist with in-person interviews and applications.
- Process statistical reports for the department and deliver them to the appropriate personnel.
- File all case files in a timely manner. Maintain organization filing systems. Keep the file room clean and neat.
- Relieve the Front Desk associates for breaks, staff meeting, and as otherwise necessary. Answer phone, respond and direct guest inquiries, complete intake packets and update data entry as necessary. Help keep front desk records neat and organized and make proper labels as needed.
- Enter data for programs, including client registration forms and service transaction records in HMIS.
Service Work : (20%)
Responsibilities to include all new client orientations and application processes, verifying eligibility and collection of documentation, client interviews, and data entries.With direction all Communication with utility companies concerning client bills and Salvation Army promises and related consumer payment criteria.Assist with all practicum, interns and volunteers.Assist with outreach fairs and off-site service provision as necessary.Willingness to learn new procedures and databases as required for individual, department and agency purposes.Other Responsibilities : (10%)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Knowledge of The Salvation Army mission and philosophy.Ability to work well with management and peers.Knowledge of general office practices and procedures.Possess customer service skills.Efficient record keeping practices and procedures.Basic mathematics skills.Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.Possess time management skillsPossess above average communication skills.Knowledge and proficiency in Windows environment, using Microsoft Word and Excel.Ability to meet attendance requirements.Ability to adapt in consistently changing environment.Minimum Qualifications Required :
Education and Experience : HS Diploma or GED AND one-year experience performing job related responsibilities preferred OR any equivalent demonstration of training or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Physical Requirements :
Ability to meet attendance requirements.Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.Working Conditions : Work is performed in a normal office environment where there is little or no physical discomfort associated with changes in weather or discomfort associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
