Law Enforcement Officer Opportunity
The Orange County Sheriff's Office in Orlando, FL is seeking candidates for a full-time law enforcement officer position. Starting salary ranges from $62,566.40 to $64,771.20 per year, depending on experience.
Minimum requirements and essential functions include :
- Must be Florida certified or currently attending a Florida law enforcement officer academy.
- Good verifiable work history.
- Accredited high school or GED diploma.
- Must be able to comprehend and communicate fluently in verbal and written English.
- At least 20 years of age.
- U.S. Citizen.
- Valid driver's license for the last year.
- Must not have been convicted of a felony.
- Must not have been convicted of a misdemeanor involving moral character, false statements, perjury or domestic violence.
- Must not have received a dishonorable discharge from the United States Armed Forces.
- No illegal drug usage within the last year.
- Good physical condition.
- Ability to provide police omnipresence through routine patrol.
- Ability to drive a motor vehicle and / or walk within residential or business areas to conduct routine patrol, surveillance, and investigative functions.
- Must have proficient communication skills (i.e. verbal and nonverbal) and public speaking ability to present to diverse group size and population.
- Must have the ability to use audio-visual equipment.
- Must have effective organizational and administrative skills.
- Must demonstrate proficient knowledge and understanding of current laws, investigative procedures and policies of the OCSO.
