Responsibilities
- The Community Outreach Coordinator is responsible for increased community awareness of the domestic violence, prevention, identification, and intervention services available to victims at the Crisis Center for South Suburbia, particularly in underserved communities.
- Uphold the Mission & Values of the Crisis Center for South Suburbia.
- Underserved Community Outreach & Engagement : Responsible for carrying out the agency outreach plan to underserved communities.
- Identify and build relationships with new agencies and organizations that can assist identify and engage with victims in underserved communities.
- Manage all service agreement documentation for organizations that work with the Crisis Center.
- Engage in community outreach that results in referrals to the program, and assists in the identification of community resources.
- Oversee, and participate in agency community outreach events and efforts to increase awareness of agency programs to survivors in our catchment area.
- Oversee and participate in the provision of information on CCSS programs and services as well as promotional materials that are language appropriate for underserved and marginalized communities in the service area.
- Develop collaborations directly and through the staff assigned to outreach to address unique needs of survivors that present barriers to accessing services.
- Work with staff assigned to targeted outreach areas / sites to ensure contacts and outreach is completed at the assigned level.
- Develop a documentation system to track agency outreach and monitor service utilization of underserved communities.
- Review and update the annual plan of outreach activities including targeted audience type, site, location, contact information, staff responsible, type of contacts and dates of anticipated contacts.
- Conduct outreach and provide services to historically underserved or marginalized victims of violent crime.
- Coordinate outreach efforts with other agency advocates.
- Other duties as assigned.
Safe Start and DV Education Resource
Act as secondary Safe Start presenter during the busy school seasonFill in for DV Education Coordinator as neededProvide accurate, consistent and caring referral services to clients and maintain accurate knowledge of local social service agencies and available resources.Liaison with referral sources to develop a working relationship in an effort to raise the awareness of the Safe Start Program, DV Education, and Community Outreach and to increase the referrals.Attend public speaking engagements to represent CCSS when needed at community events and fairs to increase awareness of CCSS program services and promote volunteer opportunities.Other duties as assigned.Seniority level
