Senior Director Of Community Impact

Repair is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Director of Community Impact to co-lead our communities team. This is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, program quality and measurable impact of Repair's program to drive engagement and social impact across all Repair communities. This role will directly supervise four city directors within New York, Miami, Atlanta and Los Angeles.

The Senior Director of Community Impact will be passionate about building a Jewish service movement and the intersection of Jewish values, young adult engagement, and service. This person will support the organization's mission, leveraging their deep understanding of Jewish values to foster community connections and engage diverse Jewish audiences in the power of volunteering in the pursuit of social impact. The Senior Director of Community Impact will be a proven leader with extensive experience in multi-site program management, impact measurement, and team development. This role requires exceptional operational leadership, strong relationship-building skills, and deep commitment to the intersection of Jewish values and social impact.

This is a full-time exempt position. The Senior Director of Community Impact will work in a co-leadership model with another Senior Director of Community Impact. Both senior directors will directly supervise a subset of Repair communities. This role will report to the Chief Program Officer and is a national role with flexibility for remote work. Preference will be given for candidates located in a community where Repair operates (Atlanta, GA; Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Boulder or Denver, CO; Los Angeles, CA; Miami, FL; New York, NY or San Francisco, CA). This position requires travel approximately once per month, including travel to local Repair communities, organizational convenings and relevant conferences.

Position Responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement comprehensive program strategy across Repair's national network of local sites, ensuring consistent quality and mission alignment while adapting to local community needs
  • Oversee the strategic growth of Repair's programs in community, identifying new markets and supporting new initiatives from launch through sustainability
  • Lead cross-community collaboration and resource sharing, fostering innovation and best practice development across the network
  • Ensure Jewish educational pedagogy is consistently integrated into all programming, deepening participant engagement with service as a Jewish value
  • Establish and maintain quality standards for all direct service programming, ensuring programs meet Repair's mission and participant expectations
  • Lead program evaluation initiatives, gathering feedback from participants, partners, and staff to continuously improve program design and delivery, leveraging evaluation insights
  • Work in partnership with the data and evaluation team to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and strategic insights that inform organizational decision-making
  • Supervise and coach a team of four including team managers, providing strategic guidance, professional development, and performance management
  • Foster a collaborative leadership culture that empowers local teams while maintaining organizational alignment and accountability
  • Lead regular team meetings and provide ongoing coaching to support professional growth and program innovation
  • Champion organizational values and Jewish service learning approach throughout all team interactions and program decisions
  • Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with Jewish communal organizations, civic partners, funders, and service organizations across multiple markets
  • Support local teams in developing partnerships that enhance program reach, deepen community impact, and strengthen Jewish community connections
  • Represent Repair the World at national conferences, convenings, and community events to build organizational visibility and recruit partners
  • Collaborate with Jewish Service Alliance partners to expand the reach and impact of Jewish service programming nationally
  • Oversee operational functions across multiple sites, ensuring efficient resource allocation and alignment with organizational financial goals
  • Support budget planning and management for community programs, working with local teams to optimize resources for maximum impact
  • Drive local fundraising success by partnering with City Directors and national development to achieve 6675%+ locally designated revenue goals through relationship-building, storytelling, and high-quality donor engagement.
  • Serve as a senior ambassador for Repair, directly engaging funders, Advisory Council members, and key stakeholders, and modeling best practices in lay leader engagement, stewardship, and storytelling.
  • Ensure consistent, impactful engagement by coaching City Directors, aligning with national development, marketing, and data teams, and delivering at least one high-impact stakeholder program per community each quarter.

  • Service Mindset : Commitment to serving others, grounded in a belief that we can make a difference in making the world better by serving alongside our neighbors to meet community needs.
  • Collaboration and Relationship Building : Proven skills in building and maintaining relationships with staff and diverse communities. This includes the ability to work effectively with program staff, local Jewish organizations, and community-based partners to achieve shared goals.
  • Program Design : Proficiency in designing and executing programs that align with our vision, with the flexibility to adapt to community needs while focusing on Jewish learning and social impact.
  • Growth Mindset and Resilience : Advanced resilience and empathy, with a proven ability to strategically navigate organizational change. Exhibits a mature, solution-oriented mindset that views challenges as opportunities for organizational growth and personal development.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making : Experience using data to measure programmatic impact, and an understanding of data management.
  • Requirements :

  • 8+ Years of Leadership Experience : including a track record of : Team supervision and leadership development across multiple locations, Multi-site or regional program management in nonprofit or communal settings, Building and engaging Jewish communities through programming and partnerships, Strategic partnership development and relationship management with diverse stakeholders
  • Jewish Communal Knowledge : Familiarity with Jewish communal landscape and understanding of how service can deepen Jewish engagement and community connection across diverse Jewish populations and backgrounds
  • Equity Lens : Sophisticated awareness of poverty, structural racism, power and privilege, ability to facilitate conversations around these issues with diverse groups in ways that empower and open people to learning.

    Compensation and Benefits :

    Compensation at Repair the World is based on the salary band for the role and cost of living for the location. The annual starting salary for this full-time, exempt role is $125,000 - 145,000 dependent on experience and location of the final candidate. Benefits package includes paid time off for service in addition to vacation, sick time, personal days and holidays. Employer covers 100% of full-time employee's health premiums (medical / dental / vision) for most plans and 50% for dependents. Additional benefits include retirement matching, professional development funds, employer-paid short and long term disability coverage plus access to the Jewish Learning Collaborative and our Economic Access Fund. In addition, employees that have been with Repair for at least six months are eligible for 16 weeks of paid parental leave (pro-rated for employees with Repair less than 6 months).
