We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Lead Information Security Engineer to ensure the integrity, security, availability, and performance of enterprise IT systems, applications, and cloud environments. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with strategic planning to safeguard critical infrastructure while supporting business objectives. You will work closely with IT, development, and business stakeholders to design, implement, and monitor advanced security solutions, proactively addressing threats and vulnerabilities. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment, mentoring junior engineers, guiding security architecture, and driving continuous improvements across a broad technology landscape.
Accountabilities
- Plan, design, implement, and maintain security technologies and architectures across on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk analysis to identify and mitigate threats.
- Deploy, configure, and manage security solutions, including firewalls, EDR, SIEM, CASB, DLP, cloud security, and intrusion detection / prevention systems.
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security incidents, providing remediation and recommendations.
- Collaborate with IT, development, and business teams to recommend system enhancements and technical alternatives.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, policies, and procedures for security practices.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior staff, fostering knowledge transfer and skill development.
- Evaluate emerging security technologies and best practices, recommending adoption as appropriate.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience; CISSP may substitute for degree).Minimum of 7 years of experience in information security, with expertise across multiple domains such as vulnerability management, firewalls, cloud security, SIEM, endpoint security, network forensics, PKI, and threat intelligence.Hands-on experience with scripting, automation, and APIs to improve security operations.Proven ability to analyze complex systems, troubleshoot issues, and recommend technical solutions.Strong communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.Familiarity with regulatory compliance and federal / state security requirements.Demonstrated leadership, creativity, and problem-solving skills in technical assignments.Deep knowledge of IT disciplines, including networking, server platforms, applications, databases, and security frameworks.Benefits
