Job Title : Senior Structural Engineer
Location : New England (office-based with site visits)
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our growing civil / structural engineering team. You will work on a wide range of electric power delivery and renewable generation projects, including substations, transmission lines, BESS plants, and wind / solar generation facilities. This role is ideal for a self-motivated engineer eager to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, with a focus on structural steel and foundation design.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Design
Prepare plans and specifications for structures and foundations in substations, transmission lines, and renewable generation plants.
Develop design criteria, calculations, reports, and other technical documents.
Perform peer reviews and act as Engineer-of-Record on assigned projects.
Collaborate with electrical, civil, and other design disciplines to deliver integrated solutions.
Project Delivery
Serve as lead structural engineer on project teams.
Participate in client meetings and conduct project site visits.
Support project management with scheduling, budgets, and quality oversight.
Assist in preparing proposals and engineering estimates.
Team Development & Leadership
Mentor and train junior engineers.
Contribute to the development of internal design tools, templates, and procedures.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution (Master's in Structural Engineering preferred).
Minimum 7+ years of structural design experience.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with willingness to obtain additional state licenses.
Strong background in structural analysis, steel systems design, and foundation design.
Technical Skills
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Excel, Mathcad, and finite element software (RISA suite or similar).
Strong MS Office Suite skills.
Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
