About The Position

Certifications : BLS required, ACLS preferred, CPI preferred, NIH preferred

Must-Have :

• 2 years of experience in a large, urban hospital
• Epic charting experience required
• Drips management experience is required

Description :

This position is for a 20-bed general medical-surgical and telemetry unit.

Patients cared for may include those undergoing total knee and hip replacements, complex orthopedic cases, pulmonary, sepsis, gastrointestinal, endocrine, cardiac, renal, and psychiatric illnesses.

Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1 : 5 during the day and 1 : 6 at night, with some rare instances where night ratios may reach 1 : 7.

The unit splits care responsibilities across two floors, with the higher floor potentially seeing ratios of 1 : 10 for complex discharges.

Registered nurses are responsible for weekly assessments, vital checks, and labs, supported by care technicians and other clinicians.

All applicants must be nicotine-free as the facility maintains a strict no-nicotine policy.

Position involves floating within the scope to meet facility needs, potentially covering various units.

Nurses will be assigned weekend shifts, with 4 weekend shifts required out of 8 possible during a 4-week period.

A holiday requirement includes working 2 out of 3 major holidays.

All travelers must comply with facility policies regarding job performance and patient care standards.

Travelers must provide proof of licensure within a specified timeframe upon submission.

This job requires active participation in a mandatory charting training session during the first week of employment.
