Active and valid Bar license in good standing from any U.S. state (Texas, Virginia, or Maryland Bar is highly preferred). Bilingual in English and Spanish; proficiency in additional languages is a plus. In-depth knowledge of immigration law, including immigration court procedures, removal defense, and business immigration visas (e.g., L, H, B, E visas, I-140s, PERMs). Professional, positive, and welcoming demeanor. Ability to travel for client meetings if necessary. Active Bar License in any U.S. state (preferably TX, VA, or MD). Strong legal research and writing skills. Ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously. Excellent client communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of immigration laws and procedures. Proficiency in bilingual communication (English and Spanish).
Overview
Immigration Attorney - A prominent law firm with locations in Texas is seeking a bilingual Immigration Attorney to join its legal team on a full-time basis. This role involves providing legal representation, offering advice, and preparing applications for clients seeking relief under immigration laws.
Responsibilities
- Represent clients in immigration-related cases, including removal proceedings before the Immigration Court.
- Provide legal counsel on eligibility for immigration relief and prepare necessary applications for filing with USCIS and Immigration Court.
- Meet with clients and assist with a wide range of immigration matters, including bond hearings, removal defense, and business immigration visas.
- Appear before government agencies on behalf of clients.
- Collaborate with the legal team on case management and other related tasks.
- Occasionally travel to detention centers to meet with clients when required.
- Assist with other areas of law as needed by the firm.
