The Position Maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded.
Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger.
Prepares balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports.
Analyzes current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.
Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. Responsibilities Manage and review A / P checks, deposits Assist with monthly close process Performs month-end standard journal entries Reviews balance sheet and income statement accounts Reconciles balance sheet accounts Produces required reports / financial statements Quarterly payroll taxes and Budget Preparation Trains other staff Works on special projects, if requested Attends staff meetings Maintain eligibility files in accordance with Best Practice and Federal regulations. Verify monthly that an eligibility file has been created for every open case and that the eligibility of the case is listed correctly. Review court orders to ensure the order meets the Title IV-E requirements.
Track all initial orders with respect to “Reasonable Efforts” language. Track cases where a child is placed pursuant to a Voluntary Placement Agreement (VPA). Review Washington County Expenditure Transaction Analysis Report and key applicable expenditures into CYS integrated accounting software. Prepare journal entries to maintain consistency between CYS accounting software and the Washington County General Ledger. Prepare journal entries to address reporting inconsistencies between CYS accounting software and the Washington County General Ledger. Complete Social Security Representative Payee Reports. Other Duties as Needed Knowledge Demonstrates organizational skills and meets all deadlines with all paperwork Proficient computer skills, Ability to adapt to learn new software products Ability to work independently and use good time management to handle a variety of duties Basic knowledge of financial accounting principles Ability to be attentive to detail, Strong communication skills Requirements Possess Act 33 and 34 Clearances Have a valid Pennsylvania motor vehicle license, and access to a personal vehicle Proficient with Excel, Outlook and other Microsoft Office products Ability to work independently Full time position requiring 38.75 hours per week Ability to report in office, in Washington, PA.
