Sales Product Specialist – Role Overview

As the dealership's first point of contact, the Sales Product Specialist plays a key role in shaping each customer's experience. From the moment guests arrive, specialists deliver a welcoming, knowledgeable, and engaging interaction. With empathy, product expertise, and a commitment to satisfaction, they ensure every customer feels supported and informed throughout their visit.

This is not a traditional sales role, but it does include performance-based incentives for each successful customer purchase resulting from the specialist's guidance and support.

Daily Tasks

Daily Tasks Include

  • Warmly greet all incoming customers and build rapport through active listening and conversation.
  • Identify customer needs and match them with appropriate vehicle options.
  • Arrange and participate in test drives, highlighting key features and benefits.
  • Deliver clear, engaging walk-around presentations for new and returning customers.
  • Educate customers on vehicle technologies and ensure full understanding of operating systems.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow-up communications via the dealership CRM.
  • Support paperwork processes as needed and ensure customer satisfaction post-visit.
  • Report regularly to the Sales Manager with updates, insights, and planned activities.
  • Stay informed on competitive models and confidently compare features and benefits.
  • Proactively connect with leads, orphaned customers, and follow-up opportunities through contact management systems, providing seamless support to the sales team.
