Pay Range - The Lead position pay is based on credentials and experience, starting at $25 / hr.
About the role
We are hiring qualified Music Specialists to offer enrichment programming to preschool students across several campuses. This role is part-time ; the schedule will be Mon-Fri, 9 : 30am - 1 : 00pm, with options to become full-time. As our Music Specialist, you will travel to multiple Georgetown Hill locations and applicants should have reliable transportation.

Teach music to children ages 3-5 at various campuses using our creative, age-appropriate curriculumMaintain a consistent schedule of classroom visits in coordination with the campus directorUse the music curriculum and developmentally appropriate activities to provide engaging instructionDifferentiate instruction to maximize participationProvide written summaries of music instruction for families in weekly communicationsSupervise preschool children to ensure health, welfare, and safetySupport the physical, socio-emotional, and developmental needs of each childDemonstrate effective communication with children, families, and colleaguesCollaborate with other music instructors to plan activities and improve the programMaintain a safe, positive classroom environmentAttend monthly meetings for progress updates and collaborationQualifications
The minimum education / certification requirements for Music Specialists are the MSDE 90-hour Preschool Certification or a CDA with the preschool endorsement. Our ideal candidate has 1-3 years of experience teaching music to preschool children and the following credentials / skills :
Proficiency in at least one instrumentAbility to sing in front of groupsComfort with the physical demands of a preschool setting (lifting up to 40 pounds, etc.)MSDE 90-hour certification or CDA with Preschool endorsement preferredReliable transportation (local travel)Understanding of child development and teaching methodsProficient in productivity toolsWarm, friendly demeanor; reliable attendance and punctualityOrganized, able to prioritize and multi-taskTeam-oriented and collaborativeRegulatory note : All applicants must submit to and pass a state and federal background check as a contingency of employment. Federal center campuses require GSA-security clearance.
