Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated technical and business projects to ensure goals are accomplished within prescribed timeframes and funding parameters. Develops, manages, and coordinates project plans of varying complexity, defining work breakdowns, schedules, budgets, risks, contingency plans, and resource allocation for each phase.
Demonstrates professionalism, confidence, and strong communication and leadership skills. Promotes accountability, punctuality, and a structured approach to project execution and delivery.
JOB DUTIES
- Manage projects consistent with Corporate Standards, Operating Procedures, and departmental processes.
- Oversees project scope, schedule, budget, risk / issue management, change control, phase gating, and general project administration.
- Promotes a culture of early risk mitigation and accountability, incorporating relevant techniques into project planning and execution.
- Understands project success criteria and provides guidance to the delivery structure to meet defined objectives.
- Develop detailed project plans specifying milestones, tasks, durations, and resource allocations for each project phase.
- Manages team performance to ensure deliverables are completed on time, within scope and budget, with high priority items tracked to completion.
- Manages vendor activities to ensure alignment with Statements of Work and company standards.
- Leads and coordinates cross-functional teams, promoting collaboration, transparency, and effective communication.
- Monitors key performance metrics to track progress against schedule and budget expectations.
- Proactively and effectively communicates project status, risks, and issues to management, project owners, and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills and sound judgment for escalation and decision-making.
- Creates and maintains project schedules using Microsoft Project Online and Microsoft Project Client .
- Leverages Microsoft Project Online and Power BI for project tracking, dashboards, and reporting.

Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience beyond degree requirements.Minimum 6 years as a Project Manager leading large-scale projects.Project schedule creation and maintenance using Microsoft Project Online or Project Server .Project reporting using Microsoft Project Online and Power BI .Minimum 2 years in a Program Manager role (preferred).Task assignment and tracking using JIRA (preferred).Software project management experience, preferably within the Transmission or Electric Generation industries.Preferred : Experience using Microsoft Project Client and Microsoft Project Online / Server.Must have : Waterfall project management experience.Preferred : Electrical market experience.Preferred : Texas-based or open to relocation if opportunity opens for full-time conversion.EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field (Required).Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field (Preferred).Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.CERTIFICATION
PMP – Project Management Professional (Highly Preferred)PgMP – Program Management Professional (Preferred)LOCATION
This is a 6-month contract role , remote during the contract period.
While conversion is not guaranteed, the manager is open to it if the role remains needed and budget is approved. In that case, the candidate must be based in Texas or willing to relocate for a hybrid schedule.
