Responsibilities Work in a Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit within an acute care setting 21-bed NICU with patient ratios ranging from 1 : 1 to 1 : 3 Care for neonates as early as 23 weeks gestation, including cooling cases and feeders / growers Utilize oscillators, Draeger vents, CPAP, and high flow nasal cannula EMR system is Cerner and experience is required 12-hour night shifts from 7p-7a, every other weekend required Floating may occur to Nursery and Pediatric units; occasional float to Mother Baby if experienced Required to float first when weekend is scheduled No nurse aides on unit; charge nurse almost always present in NICU Standby call may be required for low census Scrub color is navy Duties include primary care for critically ill neonates, including ventilator management and advanced monitoring RT and pharmacy support are available 24 / 7, with neonatologist not on site at all times Orientation includes 2-3 shifts in NICU and 2 shifts in Pediatrics as needed Must be able to pass a sterile technique test for Foley and central line dressing changes if required during orientation Holiday coverage required for two major holidays during assignment Self-scheduling is primarily used for shift selections First-time travelers are welcome to apply Requirements Active CA RN license is required Minimum 2 years of recent NICU RN experience Certifications required : BLS (AHA) and NRP, with PALS and STABLE preferred Experience caring for neonates on high frequency oscillators and advanced ventilators is required Experience with Cerner EMR is required Comfort caring for patients as early as 23 weeks gestation and handling cooling protocols is preferred Must provide two references : one supervisor from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the last three years Copy of driver's license required for consideration Candidates may not have been directly employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health in the past year Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-623211.
