Communication Specialist (TS / SCI) - ONSITE

Location : Reston, VA. BluePath Labs (8(a) & SDVOSB) is a fast-growing research and consulting company serving federal, state, and local government clients. We offer professional, scientific, and technology services in business consulting, research and data science, and technology integration.

This role requires an TS / SCI clearance and provides editorial, communications, and knowledge management support for the Defense Intelligence Agency's Office of the Inspector General (DIA OIG). The position reports onsite five days per week.

Work Description

Support the DIA OIG with editorial, communication, and knowledge management to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency of PIG reports and publications. Responsibilities include reviewing, editing, and shaping critical documents, engaging with stakeholders, and maintaining editorial standards aligned with OIG and DIA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Editorial & Communications Support
• Review, edit, and proofread high-level reports and publications to ensure 95%+ accuracy.
• Ensure documents conform to the DIA Style Manual, classification guidelines, and internal editorial standards.
• Identify and correct grammatical errors, passive voice, and formatting inconsistencies.
• Engage directly with OIG personnel and leadership to recommend revisions and gather necessary information.
• Ghostwrite or edit executive-level communications, including emails and correspondences.
• Author briefs, SOPs, reports, and various official documents.
• Document & Report Production
• Lead the editing and production of critical reports such as Semiannual Reports to Congress, Top Management Challenges, Emerging Risk Reports, and Annual Plans.
• Track and coordinate the full lifecycle of OIG products from initial editing through publication.
• Design and integrate visuals, charts, and infographics to enhance report quality.
• Review and update office templates and document formats.
• Knowledge & Information Management
• Develop and implement knowledge management strategies to enhance information sharing, documentation, and retention within OIG.
• Organize and maintain digital repositories, including reports, templates, editorial guides, and reference materials.
• Curate and manage content for the internal OIG webpage to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
• Internal Communication & Leadership
• Compile division-level data to produce a regular newsletter for the OIG workforce.
• Lead monthly meetings and briefings on editing workflows, publication timelines, and process improvements.
• Maintain and update internal style and writing guides.
