Overview
We are seeking a skilled Construction Accounting Manager to join our team for Street, Road & Highway Construction. The ideal candidate acts as the financial steward of the company, overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reports, compliance with legal regulations, and the implementation of effective financial strategies and controls. The role will cover a broad range of financial functions including cash management, preparation, and review of profit and loss statements, balance sheet reconciliations, financial job reviews, and more.
Responsibilities
- Managing construction projects' finances and budgets.
- Handling invoicing and payment processing for construction projects.
- Monitoring project expenses and cash flow.
- Preparing financial statements and reports for construction projects.
- Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Collaborating with project managers to develop detailed, cost-effective budgets.
- Performing accounting duties throughout the project, such as preparing invoices and estimating cash flow.
- Company payroll through ADP Software.
Skills and Qualifications
Knowledge of finance, accounting, and cost control principles including GAAPComprehension of federal and state compliance regulationAbility to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports and statementsComputer skills related to the preparation of financial schedules and reportsProfessional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; ability to motivate and enable team members to produce quality materials within requested timeframesAccounting degree and three to five years of experience in a senior-level accounting position or public accountingProficiency with ADP, QuickBooks, and Excel including other MS Suite programsExperience with construction management software such as PROCORE and Bluebeam is a plusRequirements
Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in construction accounting; roadway, highway, or heavy civil preferredBachelor's degree in accounting or finance; equivalent work experience will be consideredExceptional attention to detail and organizational skillsExceptional computer skillsAbility to analyze problems and create solutions that add value to the client and the companyOther Details
