As a System Control Engineer, you will serve as the technical expert for control systems within an advanced AV platform environment. You’ll support complex installations, manage escalated cases, and provide guidance on best practices in control methodologies. Your work will involve scripting, troubleshooting, and collaborating closely with software developers to improve reliability and performance. Acting as a trusted advisor to both internal teams and external clients, you’ll ensure every solution meets the highest technical standards while contributing to the continuous innovation of next-generation AV control systems.
Accountabilities :
- Act as a subject matter expert in system control, providing advanced troubleshooting, optimization, and support for Lua scripting and control elements.
- Deliver remote and on-site technical assistance to clients, integrators, and internal teams, ensuring high-quality system performance and reliability.
- Report and track field software bugs, collaborate with developers via Jira, and help prioritize improvements that enhance customer experience.
- Maintain detailed documentation within CRM systems and knowledge bases to ensure transparency and efficiency in case management.
- Provide updates on project progress to internal stakeholders and customers, ensuring alignment and timely resolution of technical challenges.
- Support quality assurance processes for control-related products and maintain close coordination with software teams on product enhancements.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.5+ years of experience in the audiovisual or IT industry, with at least 3 years in scripting or programming (Lua preferred).Advanced certifications in Crestron, Extron, or AMX programming required; CTS or CTS-D certification is a plus.Strong background in troubleshooting Q-SYS or similar Linux-based AV systems.Experience using collaborative tools like Jira and Confluence for issue tracking and documentation.Knowledge of control protocols including contact / relay logic, serial data, and Ethernet control.Familiarity with networking, AEC, VoIP, and telephony systems.Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.Benefits
