Title : Full-time Food Service Specialist / Direct Support Professional
Salary : 21.00 hourly
Schedule : Monday, Friday, 8 : 00 am – 4 : 00 pm.
POSITION SUMMARY :
The Food Serve Safe specialist is responsible for preparing, ordering, and serving meals to individuals served under the Federal Food program and providing Direct Care Support to the senior center participants.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Food Service Specialist
Coordinate food and kitchen supply purchases with vendors
Ability to execute a receipt in detail
Maintain food service area for cleanliness and safety
Assure compliance with federal, state, and county health regulations
Provide staff training in the CACFP guidelines in food safety.
Facilitate skills learning of service workers
Direct Support Professional
Duties of Position
Participate in preparation of the Person-Centered Plan “PCP” by completing initial and annual assessments, and present recommendations for development of goals to the Director of Day Services / Activity Coordinator.
Work in cooperation with the Director of Day Services / Activity Coordinator in development, revision, and implementation of each individual’s PCP and all PCP recommended activities identified as the senior center service’s responsibility.
Schedule and implement goals as indicated in PCP.
Supervise individuals at all times keep actively engaged in different tasks / activities to include activities in the community.
Assist with Community and Center Based Activities
Document all activities daily
OTHER FUNCTIONS :
§ Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES :
§ Requires knowledge of correct English grammar and usage
§ Good computer knowledge and skills including familiarity with the keyboard
§ Good interpersonal and communication Skills;
§ Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
§ Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbal and in writing;
MINIMUM EDUCATION, LICENSE AND EXPERIENCE :
§ High school diploma with 2 years’ experience in kitchen Management required.
§ Serve Safe certificate required.
§ Knowledge of federal Food Program for adults in preferred.
