The purpose of the class is to perform routine manual work in the Stormwater division. This class is responsible for service work such as digging trenches, cleaning ditches; assists with installation of fixtures such as pipes, valves, fittings, and manholes; landscape, road, sidewalk, driveway restoration and other outdoor work. Completes logs or routine records. The class works according to set procedures under direct supervision. Weekend, holiday and after-hours work may be required, as well as after-hours response and emergencies.

The purpose of the class is to operate mobile equipment and perform skilled work in support of the Stormwater division. This class is responsible for service work such as digging trenches, cleaning ditches; assists with installation of fixtures such as pipes, valves, fittings, and manholes; landscape, road, sidewalk, driveway restoration and other outdoor work, completing logs or routine records, operating light to medium mobile equipment, minor equipment maintenance, assisting and supporting City facility and area maintenance, and minor administrative tasks. The class works according to written and verbal procedures, but decides how and when to do things under general supervision. Weekend, holiday and after-hours work may be required, as well as after-hours response and emergencies.

Stormwater Tech Apprentice - Qualifications
Requires a High School Diploma or GED. Must obtain the following certifications within 18 months of hire (City will provide training) : TTC approved certification, Confined Space Entry Certification, Class C Stormwater Certification, Requires a valid State of Florida driver license and satisfactory driving record as a condition of initial and continued employment. Must obtain a Class B CDL permit within 6 months of hire and Class B CDL within one year of employment. This position requires employees to live within a 20-mile radius of the City limits of Leesburg within six (6) months of employment for continued employment due to on call rotation requirement.
Stormwater Tech C - Qualifications
The level below requires a high school diploma, GED, and formal training, special courses, or self-educated equivalent to satisfying completion of one year of college educated or specialized advanced training in the Stormwater field. Must live within a 20-mile radius of the City limits of Leesburg within six (6) months of employment for continued employment due to on call rotation requirement. May mentor and assist in training of less experienced operations staff. Maintain compliance using experience and best management practices. Minimum requirements are as follows :

Requires a valid State of Florida Class "B" CDL permit with a tanker endorsement within 6 months of hire and Class "B" CDL within 12 months of hire and satisfactory driving record as a condition of continued employment.
