Responsibilities
- Performance Management (for employees who supervise others). Ensure expectations are clear, well communicated, and relate to department or unit goals; provide frequent, constructive feedback; ensure staff have necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities; meet evaluation deadlines with proper documentation; address performance issues promptly.
- Safety : review and communicate safety measures to maintain a safe and healthy workplace and reduce work-related absences.
- Cleaning and housekeeping in assigned areas : perform a variety of cleaning tasks in patient / administrative areas using proper techniques per policies, safety regulations (OSHA / EPA) and bloodborne pathogens guidelines.
- Daily cleaning tasks : dust mopping / wet mopping and proper use of germicidal chemicals; operate industrial-grade equipment to buff floors twice weekly; place safety signs to prevent injuries; replenish hygiene products as needed; store cleaning agents / equipment securely.
- Cleaning of nursing / patient equipment : sanitize daily and disinfect weekly with germicidal agents; maintain records of cleaning dates and forward documentation to appropriate staff.
- Cleaning of Treatment Mall and Patient Equipment : sanitize daily and disinfect weekly; maintain cleaning schedules and documentation.
- Cleaning of Administrative Offices and Living Quarters : maintain a clean environment in administrative areas and living spaces; handle waste and ensure confidentiality of documents; report maintenance or security issues to supervisor; manage trash / recycle removal and soiled linen according to procedures.
- Safety and compliance : monitor supplies and equipment, store securely, follow policies and environmental guidelines, and perform other housekeeping duties as assigned.
- Furniture movement and special setups : assist with movement and set-ups with proper body mechanics and minimal disruption; handle isolation cleaning in line with guidelines.
- Waste handling : proper disposal of waste in identified bags per procedures; ensure secure storage areas and safe transport of carts; maintain clean trash / recycle carts.
- Support / Security : follow supervisor directions, communicate clearly with patients and staff for safety, and reflect the organization positively through thorough cleaning.
Minimum Qualifications
Proficient in use of cleaning equipment and supplies, including preventive maintenance of equipment. Knowledge and application of cleaning instructions according to policies and procedures. Demonstrates competencies as defined on attached form.
Additional Considerations
Previous housekeeping experience preferred.
