Special Information
Applicants without current law enforcement certification and currently certified police officers (laterals) will both be considered. Preference may be given to lateral applicants.You must submit an NAU application and pass The Law Enforcement-Frontline National Test (NTN) to be scheduled for an interview.Register for and schedule the NTN test via National Testing NetworkLateral applicants are exempt from the NTN requirement.Start dates for lateral applicants depend on background checks and training schedules.NAU provides education assistance benefits to employees and eligible dependents.This is an on-site position, primarily at an NAU campus or facility; remote work opportunities are rare.Job Responsibilities
Enforcement of Laws (30%)
Patrol campus areas on foot, bicycle, or vehicle to deter crime, control traffic, and enforce laws and university rules.Response and Investigation (30%)
Respond to emergencies, investigate crimes, accidents, and incidents, and prepare detailed reports.Administrative Duties and Training (20%)
Prepare reports, serve warrants, testify in court, and participate in ongoing training.Department Representation (15%)
Engage with the campus community, deliver presentations, and collaborate with outside agencies.Other Duties (5%)
Assist with additional responsibilities as assigned.Additional Information
