Overview The news monitoring team supports multiple public relations teams within the greater company by monitoring online news and forums, identifying notable stories or posts, and managing the general public relations email account. This team is foundational to the overall operation of the company's public relations function, giving team members unique experience and insight into how public relations operates at a large company.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and extremely organized candidate who is internet-savvy and able to sift through Internet noise with an eagle eye for topics relevant to our business. This role requires reading and assessing high volumes of information to accomplish tasks, learning and using search tools to find critical information, and contributing to reporting by entering high volumes of data with speed and precision. This is a critical support role requiring relentless attention to detail and a passion for finding a needle in a haystack.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, able to work in a global team environment, problem solve, and possess a can-do attitude with sound judgement and critical thinking. The role requires multitasking, meeting tight deadlines, and switching gears quickly. Previous experience in a fast-paced environment is preferred. The candidate must be highly organized and respond with professionalism and urgency to situations requiring quick turnaround. The position may require flex hours.

Responsibilities Monitor online news and forums for topics relevant to the business

Read, assess, and enter high volumes of data with speed and accuracy

Support public relations teams by managing the general PR email account

Plan ahead, manage time effectively, and initiate improvements when processes are inefficient

Collaborate in a global team environment

Qualifications 2+ years of social media monitoring experience

Experience running projects and light project management

Degree in Journalism / PR / Communications or similar

Strong news awareness and being on top of current events

Highly organized with the ability to work under tight deadlines

Benefits and Pay The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on job classification and length of employment.
