Job Title : Flatbed Safety Manager

Location : Rockwall, TX (On-Site)

Job Type : Full-Time

Compensation : $85,000 to $120,000 annually (based on experience)

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced, bilingual (English / Spanish) Flatbed Safety Manager to lead and oversee all safety operations. This role is hands-on and strategic , ensuring compliance, reducing risk, and fostering a strong culture of safety across the company. You'll work closely with drivers, dispatch, operations, and leadership to keep our fleet safe and efficient.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and programs tailored to flatbed operations.

Ensure full DOT / FMCSA compliance , including driver qualification files, inspections, logs, and reporting.

Lead driver safety meetings, training sessions, and one-on-one coaching .

Conduct accident and incident investigations , perform root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions.

Manage DOT audits, monitor CSA scores , and stay current with regulatory changes.

Oversee claims, OSD (Overages, Shortages, Damages), and insurance reporting .

Support recruiting efforts with driver screening, onboarding, and safety orientation .

Coordinate with maintenance and operations to manage breakdowns and safety-related issues .

Recognize and reward drivers for safe driving practices .

Promote a safety-first culture that aligns with company goals and values.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 8 years of trucking safety department experience , including 1+ year in a safety management role .

Direct experience with flatbed trucking operations .

Strong knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA safety regulations .

Proven experience in accident investigations, claims, and audits .

Proficient with safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in breakdown coordination, recruiting, and claims / OSD management .

Safety certifications such as CDS (Certified Director of Safety) or CSS (Certified Safety Supervisor) .
