Service Reliability Project Lead role at Progress Rail, A Caterpillar Company
Contribute to customer satisfaction through specialized knowledge, skills, and abilities applied to tasks / projects related to the products we design, manufacture, sell, and related services. The role involves independent judgement, decision-making, and creativity. The Service Reliability Project Lead understands in-service product failure data, identifies product performance trends, drives Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) projects to field corrective action, and provides regular updates / presentations to internal and external customers. The position coordinates across the organization with Field Service, Warranty, Sales, Supplier Quality, and Production / Production Quality to drive reliability improvements through the CPI process.
Responsibilities
- Identify, analyze, and drive resolution of reliability-focused projects involving Progress Rail's products.
- Use internal and external tools to analyze warranty financial data, failure analysis results, product failure and shopping data to identify failure trends.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to drive CPI projects from problem statement through corrective action implementation.
- Collaborate with customer representatives to incorporate Voice of the Customer throughout CPI projects.
- Support Field Service with implementation plans for CPI-derived solutions.
- Regularly communicate CPI project status and problem resolutions to internal and external customers.
Education / Training
Bachelor degree with a major in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent training / experience.Qualifications And Experience
Demonstrated passion for problem solving and continuous improvement.Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.Understanding of engineering theory and design principles.Ability to work independently and with others.Knowledge of problem solving principles (Six Sigma or Shainin).Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects.Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.Basic locomotive and / or heavy equipment knowledge.Preferred Skills
Project management training or PMP certification.Six Sigma Green Belt or higher; Shainin Apprentice or higher.Statistical analyses such as Weibull analysis; problem solving for complex electrical / mechanical issues.Ability to read engineering drawings and understand design / manufacturing processes.Knowledge of data analytics and visualization; experience with locomotives.Essential And Physical Activities Functions

Summary Pay Range : $56,135.00 to $106,440.00
