Academy at Penn Site Associate Director, Office of School & Community Engagement
The Academy at Penn Site Associate Director plays a critical role in planning, implementing, and managing year-round programming that supports students' academic and social growth. The Associate Director oversees a four-week summer program and weekly Saturday sessions during the school year, ensuring high-quality instruction, smooth operations, and a safe, inclusive learning environment. Reporting to the Academy Program Director, the Associate Director serves as a key liaison among staff, families, and community partners, and provides day-to-day leadership to ensure the success of all university-based Academy at Penn programming.
This position is fully grant-funded until June 2029.
Key Responsibilities :
- Coordinate program development (scheduling, logistics, and daily operations), including working with key partners and academic consultants
- Supervise instructional and seasonal staff
- Ensure safe, inclusive, and productive program environments
- Monitor program quality and outcomes
Qualifications : Essential :
A Bachelors degree and 2 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.Demonstrated experience in program coordination, youth development, or camp / enrichment program management.Experience working with diverse student populations and under-resourced communities.Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to supervise and support staff effectively, including seasonal or part-time personnel.Skilled in prioritizing tasks, problem-solving, and managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.Familiarity with safety protocols and ability to respond to incidents appropriately.Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).Preferred :
A Master's degree in education, youth development, or related field (strongly preferred).Extensive experience in urban school district @contexts and community-based program development.Knowledge of curriculum design and alignment with research-based practices.Experience partnering with community-based organizations and educational institutions.Commitment to equity, inclusivity, and culturally responsive programming.Expected Base Salary : $74,500, commensurate with experience.
