About Us
Dandelion Chocolate is a bean-to-bar chocolate factory in San Francisco’s Mission District. We make chocolate from only two ingredients, cocoa beans, and cane sugar, and travel to origins as often as possible to build good, trusting relationships with the producers who grow and ferment our beans. Our business is built upon trust and partnership, and now we’re looking for a Seasonal Receiver and Loading Dock Associate to assist with inventory, oversee products shipped and received, and ensure that the team is supported in order to do their best work during our busiest season.
About the Job
As our Seasonal Receiver and Loading Dock Associate, your morning might start by doing a quick sweep to ensure that all walkways are safe and accessible before breaking down boxes and taking them out to the recycling area. After that, you help unload a delivery of supplies that has come in and get the palettes stored away in the correct places. When you have some downtime in the afternoon, you assist with box building for the production teams so that they are well stocked. Finally, in preparing for the pallet pickup the next day, you organize and palletize several pallets of finished product from different teams, to be sent away to our offsite cold storage facility. Ultimately, your goal is to keep the loading dock space functional, efficient, organized, and safe, so our teams can have a successful holiday season! This seasonal position starts at $24 / hour with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 7am-3 : 30pm.
About You
Our ideal candidate is someone who prioritizes safety, attention to detail, organization, and clear communication. You are comfortable in a warehouse setting and can work effectively both on a team and independently. Nothing makes you more satisfied than when everything is labeled, tidy, and put away in its proper place. You are constantly looking for ways to improve the loading dock area to make it more effective and efficient. You will know that you are doing a good job when inventory is always kept at or above minimum par, the space is organized, items are easily accessible, and the team always has what they need to do their best work.
